Nightclubs for 30-somethings in Munich

Recommended clubs

gbrivera
Hey everyone!

We've visited some clubs @ Munich but we still haven't found "the one" for us! We're looking for somewhere that isn't full of teenager people, with typical commercial music, where you can dance & have fun! We know some names:

@ Kultfabrik - Mostly teen people... Isn't it?
@ 089 - Someone recommended it but we've never managed to make it there!
@ Baby - Looks OK but snobby, however, we've have never made it!
@ Pacha - Looks more like a bar/restaurant, instead of a nightclub to dance!
@ Max & Moritz - The place is OK! You have a choice of two rooms with different music! Great! However... Just kids!!!
@ Milch Bar - ???
@ Harry Klein - ??? Never been there... But I think it's more house music than commercial music?

If you could give us your club recommendations, the music they play & the general atmosphere... It'll be awesome!!! We'd be most grateful!

Cheers!
Jay
http://www.juke-and-joy.de/ organise after-work parties during the week, which tends to have more of a mixed crowd then you get at the weekends at these clubs.

And you might want to try http://www.muenchenueber30.de/ but never tried it myself (yet).

To give some insight on some of the places you have mentioned:

Kultfabrik: used to have an über 30 party, now its somewhere else (don't remember where now)
089: too young and a hit or miss door policy for non regulars, the music is also pretty much the same every week
Baby: might be percieved as a bit young, but drinks are expensive and its mostly a place to be seen in than dance in
Pacha: actually is worth a try since international DJ's do come through on a regular basis, but as everything depends on the night you go.
Max & Moritz: yep, young, next
Milch Bar: more youngins but a better mix of music than 089 and the partying goes till really really late (or early, depends of how you think of it)
Harry Klein: mostly house/electro, pretty similar to Rote Sonne (near Pacha and 089), mixed crowd but no commerical music to be heard there

Some picks off the top of my head:

Holleschek (sp?) parties are on about every other month and gets a very mixed crowd of people with mostly commerical music. The last one was a couple weeks ago on Maximillianstr. and seems to garner a lot of attention when it is on.

Contrary to belief, if you are looking for just dancing on a Sat night, P1 is quite on board with the commerical music but quite expensive with drinks and "might" have a hard door entry policy

Thursday nights in Munich are pretty good with the afterwork party at Pacha & 089. The two clubs are connected with commerical music all night long and a mix of people of all ages.

There is a back on the scene club (thanks siskebap) near Hauptbahnhof, Meinburk that seems to be quite older in partygoers but the music might not be commercial all night (I believe there is a cover there).

edmoses is pretty good with attracting a nice crowd of people at their first Saturday of the month hip-hop party, but better get there early since its jammers all night.

Erste Liga has a pretty decent commerical/hip-hop night on Friday nights with a not too young crowd.

That is all I can think of at the moment, maybe something else will come to mind. Enjoy!

There is newish club near Hauptbahnhof, Meinburk that seems to be quite older in partygoers but the music might not be commercial all night (I believe there is a cover there).
I wanted to check this out with a friend for 1-2 years, but we had no time so far. Last week there was a report about it in AZ or TZ and it was spotted to be an all chickeria young people place where teenagers party with as much as possible bottles of champagne and have bills of 1000 Euro. That sounded a little bit unreal to me.

I can suggest parties, where a team is making an occasional thing in a Discotheque. There are a couple of these in munich, for example

Zombo Combo - every last Friday at the Registratur, their event calendar is on their myspace page. Average age little bit under 30, they do not play popular music, but make it a good selection every time. Against the MP3 trend, this people do more Vinly and do decorate a lot and all DJs are dressed up. Party does not start going before midnight.

(Follow the) White Rabbit - good Disco DJ. average age maybe 25. They moved a lot during the last 5 years. It says that they are now saturdays at the atomic cafe. Event calendar is on their myspace page.

You could go to these two places basically every weekend around midnight for a disco, except when there are concerts.

The Zerwirk was not bad during the last years, also with lots of occasional events. I heard they did close a month ago and don´t know if the manager/team is going to open up a new place.

Have never been myself but heard that the Sugar club is good.

Great guys! Thanks a lot! Now we can spend a couple of weeks "trying" some of the places you recommended! You are the best! We'll start this weekend so I'll let you know how is it going! Thanks!!!

Last Saturday I went with some "30 somethings" to a Jalla Party, which is held once a month in the Foyer of the Volkerkunde Museum, Maximillian Str 42. The music certainly wouldn't be heard on Chari Vari, being "World Music", but the impression I got was that people go there to dance and have fun, not to stand around posing. Certainly no teens, average age around 35. Not schicki micki. Friendly door staff, 10€ entry. A Jalla Party is held every 2 weeks, alternating the museum with the Muffathalle. Definitely worth trying!

Hi ,
We are a group of girls, all in our 30's, and we would like to go to a disco after dinner on a Saturday.
We would like to get commercial pop music (Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, etc.)
I am a little bit lost ...since it is ages that I do not go dancing...and I do not want to end in a techno disco with 18 year old boys or have problems at the entrance because we are not regular guests (P1 & Co.)
Any recommendation?
Thank you girls!

did you skip reading posts 1-7?

Any recommendation?
Thank you girls!
And recommendations from guys are not required for some reason.

Hi!
Sorry Keydeck, I rectify : if you, guys, have something to add, please do so!
I read the previous posts but it just seems we do not fit in the discos proposed.
We would like to have: über 30, comercial music, saturdays and not just for famous regular guests (P1 out).

Let's take for example Oma's post

Kultfabrik: used to have an über 30 party, now its somewhere else (don't remember where now)
Now it's on Fridays. Schrannenclub.

Milch Bar: more youngins but a better mix of music than 089 and the partying goes till really really late (or early, depends of how you think of it)
Harry Klein: mostly house/electro, pretty similar to Rote Sonne (near Pacha and 089), mixed crowd but no commerical music to be heard there
So I guess only Pacha fits? but let's see if they have comercial music on Saturdays
and what about 8 Seasons?
