Hello,
another newbie with an empty apt and no kitchen stuff. where can i buy relatively inexpensive kitchen stuff to get started? I was in
Galeria Kaufhof (sp) today but it was like 50 oreos for one frying pan. now i love my eggs and snausages but i can't cough up that much at this point.

Seconded.
However if you plan to stay in Germany for 2 years or more, it is worth investing in a quality brands like Berndes/Silit/Fissler.

I second Woolworths - I bought a set of pans there for €10. 6 years later they are still perfect (apart from 1 handle falling off one of them). Ikea are not bad either.. I bought a frying pan there for €3 and it's still ok 2 years later.

Fleamarkets, it's amazing what some people want to get rid of!

I don't know about the quality, but I found tons of stuff at the discount stores like preis teufel or at the 1 euro (which really is not limited to 1 euro lol) stores)

Definitely Ikea. There's also a great big
flea market out in Riem that's worth a visit anyway.

Ok, Woolworths worked out nicely enough for now, although i think they may have just declared bankruptcy and be going out of biz. thanks for the advice

No, no, only Woolworths in the Uk went bankrupt. Woolworths Germany is a separate company which only shares the name and is not affected.

Hi,
It seems REAL have something called Sonderposten, everything going for € 1 each.
They have also cut electrical items by as much as 50%. There is a big REAL at
Euro Industrie Park.
Good luck,
BCG
