I can remember that somebody asked about a place where even kids could watch a soccer match. I´ve been in such a place lately, it is the
Eiscafé Venezia,
Karlsplatz 25/Prielmayerstr. Opposite of the Justizpalast. Where the Tramway 19 stop is.
They do have a beamer. They prefer the italian commentators.

So did Spain look like shit or did USA just play well? The BBC text updates didn't convey much...
EDIT:
Lee Dixon on BBC Three: "Spain had this unbelievable run going, but I think they were outrun by the USA - everything good you can say about a team, you say about them tonight. They couldn't have done any more."

Again bullshit. First I cannot really recall any brit saying that. Second this victory shows what most of us were saying all along...we can play better why arent we? Now by no mean does one victory mean a season but this was a well deserved win and a big pat on the back to the boys.

The USA showed up to PLAY! They looked good because they attacked and were in the right place at the right time. Spain looked bad because the US took them out of their game.

It wasn't pretty, but obviously effective.

Don't know if this is good for the WC or not.. They were desperate throughout the second half. Howard was awesome. They just weathered the storm, and got a lucky second goal in the process...
The last thing they need is to start thinking they're in the same league as Spain going into the World Cup...

I don't think it was worth a red, but that is another discussion.
It wasn't. And I know where you're going with that. I'd normally disagree, but we've played four games and only finished with a full squad in one of them. The odds are certainly against that. I haven't seen any rough play from the US. Pansy play, if anything. Seriously, what is up with all the falling and holding of heads? That's not how we roll. Or so I thought. Donovan is especially guilty.
Anyway, I agree with Herr DB. But there's no way they walk away thinking they're better than Spain. But it does add longevity to Bradley's coaching career for sure. Good thing?

I think a little confidence will do them good. Not cockiness, obviously, but acting like you belong.

Donovan's little swan dive was shameful, but in general both teams seem to keep the theatrics to a minimum. You have to appreciate that.
Bradley's has bought himself some major time with the last two games. I guess it's good if they keep playing as they have.

It is if you want to play in the pansy EU arena. That is what they do. Germany is the worst with hands and Italy is the worst bunch of actors. That Donovan dive in the latter half of the second half was pure EU style play. We don't like it, but its part of the game that the refs accept. That my friend is a large part of what is wrong with the game and why Americans in general don't accept it! The fact that you have to be carried off by a stretcher so you can run right back on is just proof that it is a pansy ass play. Some here complain about the commercials, but at least they are honest stacked up against the bogus delays adding extra time.

Well, we've officially made it, boys. Front page, ESPN. "Jozy and the Giant Killers"
They weren't in leopard suits and I don't think they were lip-syncing (even for a cartoon it's obvious the pussycats were frauds as far as the vocal talent goes), but ESPN loves a bad play on words, so give them credit to getting this up on the front page.
Now the rest of the US, visiting espn.com to see if TO has bought a house in Buffalo yet, will be confused. But I'm still happy it's up there.

I wish I knew you were commenting on this game @TT while I was watching last night. It would have made the experience a lot more fun.
I would add that I do not generally receive a lot of verbal abuse (i.e. "you suck") from the Brits when it comes to football (er, soccer). The Brits tend to be more subtle with an occasional "eye-roll," a smirk, or other arrogant gestures. In a pinch, a quick reminder about WC 1994 or Euro 2008 usually puts them in check.

When we beat Egypt and made it to the semis it was front page on espn til about 3 pm then was moved aside for a college world series page (Which is funny as college baseball is almost as ignored as soccer)
(Edit: Yup, its already changed to shaq's trade to cleveland).

don't know why it would, seeing as how there is no British football team, so they couldn't have competed in either of those tournaments anyway.

kind of proved my point, didn't you...
...for the record, your remark would fall under "arrogant gestures" regardless of interpretation:
1. arrogantly believing my comments were reserved for English people in isolation
2. arrogantly pretending to think that Americans are not familiar with the basis of WC/EC tournament participation

I don't think it's arrogant to point out your ignorance.
And we don't say "You Suck".
Also I think you'll find that Scotland had a fantastic qualifying campaign for Euro 2008, only narrowly failing to qualify behind both France and Italy on the final fixture. An away win in Paris being a particular highlight.

This game did Spain a bigger favour for their WC preparations than the US.
Spain has received the well needed loss, you don't want to go into a world cup with a 2 year streak.
The US will go back to their concacaf group, win everything and then expect to get as far at the WC as the Confed Cup.
The winner of the confed cup always stumbles in the World cup. That goes for Brazil as well.

why am I being the arrogant one? Why would non-English Brits be interested in the slightest as to whether the English football team qualified or not? Kinda makes you look like a dumbass. It would be a bit like a Canadian talking about the faults of Welsh rugby (of which there are plenty) and me childishly poking fun at the fact that the USA had failed to qualify for the 1995 World Cup.
