Yes it was. It was kind of like watching the USA v Russia hockey game back in 1980.
Except USA v Russia was a bunch of kids playing against grown ass men and had political-social ramifications that transcended the game, where as the majority of non soccer watching americans will forget about this in a few days.

Pity that, good win though.

Well, it wasnt to be last night for the US; but boy didnt they stun everyone in that first half. The instant response by the Salecao in the second half seemed to stun the US too, and from then on in Brasil stepped up a gear and there was only going to be one winner.

So second place in the Confed cup, and not a bad achievement behind Brasil and ahead of everyone's love in team at the monent, Spain. Perhaps if they can stun everyone again next Summer when the real thing starts, there'll be happy times ahead for US fans.

The majority of non-soccer-watching Americans (which is a huge majority of Americans) didn't even know this game was on at all, and still don't. Here, it was on at 1:30 PM on a summer Sunday afternoon. Nobody watching.

I wouldn't have known about it, either, except for this thread.
